Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Farm Marketing Representative carries primary responsibility for managing long term business relationships with Cargill's farmer customers and identifying opportunities to help them succeed through the sales of grain and crop input solutions and consulting products. ?FMRs are expected to travel to customers' farms and place of business to work with them in gaining a deep understanding of their business needs.? Our customers are looking for sales representatives who have a passion for farm business. An active interest in the business world and a desire to be recognized for success by peers and customers is essential.

Location: This position will be based out of the Cargill location in?Morris, MB and will cover the region?East of Winnipeg, MB, South of Highway 1 to the Ontario border and North to the Interlake area of Manitoba.

Accountabilities:

?

80% - Work one-on-one with farmer customers in a defined geographic territory to build productive, long-term business relationships and manage the account to the benefit of the customer and Cargill. This includes: learning about their business, analyzing their needs, and influencing their business decisions in order to provide successful solutions in the areas of grain, crop inputs, and Cargill's consulting products. The FMR will achieve sales, gross margin and revenue goals through sales calls that present solutions and value propositions to Cargill customers.

15% - Under the guidance of the Regional Sales Manager, participate in the development of a customer based sales plan that defines individual sales and margin objectives.? The plan is constantly updated through customer relationship management tools, weekly customer focus meetings, sales call planning and input from yourself and other team members. You will also attend sales, marketing, and community relations activities such as grower meetings, supplier meetings, community events, and field tours.

5% - Utilize every opportunity possible to increase your knowledge of the agriculture industry, your agronomic and grain marketing skills, and your understanding of the products and services Cargill offers in order to continuously increase the value that you can bring to our customers.

Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of grain and crop input products.
  • Knowledge of grain marketing and agronomic practices.
  • Experience in sales or customer service.
  • Related post secondary education or training.
