Learn new communication techniques that will improve your relationship!

Does nagging come naturally? Learn how to nip it in the bud!

Of course you're not a nag. You always approach relationship issues and differences of opinion with an open mind, clearly and honestly stating your opinion, after which your partner respectfully responds to your concerns. Soon, the two of you reach a win-win solution, and then skip off?holding hands?into the sunset.

Yeah, right. Let's face it: no one wants to admit that he or she might have less-than-stellar communication techniques. Nagging is a type of behavior that's much easier for naggees to identify than for naggers, but both parties agree: there has to be a better way, right?

With this in mind, we've created Nag-Free Week, which runs from November 12-18. During Nag-Free Week, we are encouraging readers to take a break from the less-than-ideal relationship behaviors, like nagging, that plague their coupled bliss. We've pulled together some great tips for cutting back on nagging, and also advice on how to ask for what you want in a way that's likely to elicit a more positive response.?

Join us on Twitter next week for two hours of nonstop discussion about the good, the bad and the ugly, when it comes to nagging.

Here are the party details:

When: Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. EST

Where: Twitter.com/yourtango

Who: @YourTango?and?@YTExperts?will be hosting the party ? follow both of us for optimal interaction!

How: When the party starts, search for #StopTheNagging in the Twitter search bar (make sure you select "All Tweets" to see everyone's tweets)! You can also use a tool such as TweetGrid to follow the conversation. To ask a question or post a response, you must include the hashtag #StopTheNagging in each of your tweets, or we won't see them.

Why:?Open the communication channels by putting your nag on hold! By making a conscious effort to rein in comments that will ultimately alienate your significant other, you can focus on the root causes of each of your behaviors, and find ways to make the relationship work better than ever.
